Fishing
I got into fishing during my early teens, the Stourbridge Canal being only a few hundred yards from home. These days, we have a coppice at the end of our garden and then the Basingstoke Canal. Fishing, for me, has always proved a great relaxation. I can be happy fishing or simply watching the wildlife that abounds around rivers and canals. An absorbing fascination takes over whether or not I'm actually catching anything. I've included a few photos beneath, including a DHSS HQ Angling Club annual awards presentation at the Hand in Hand pub that features in 'The Cat's Whiskers' anecdote of The 3S's.
Moving out to the Costa Blanca, Spain, in 2015, I soon found and joined my local angling club Carp-r-Us. Five years on I became its President. My fishing has come on massively whilst here as I am fortunate to count amongst my angling friends several internations, including 2 past Enland World Champions, and Division 1 team members; all now retirees. << New text box >>
